When the app detects the presence of our in store 'beacons' it will provide a notification with the option to view more information related to that beacon, upcoming events at that BUCO store and other promotional information to save you money while shopping at our stores. Product Information Receive information on new product and releases What is a beacon? Beacons are tiny Bluetooth based radio devices which emit a unique signal. When are then placed strategically throughout our BUCO stores, for example, they can be used to tailor unique experiences for our customers. The BUCO app is designed to be non-intrusive and simply waits in the background for a nearby beacon to be detected. It's important to note that battery use is conserved by enabling radio only when in the vicinity of a beacon using our Geo Fencing software. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. FAQ Q: Will this app drain my battery? A: No, our app will intelligently utilize the radio only when in the vicinity of a beacon. On iOS, the bluetooth feature has to enabled or disabled by the user. We can ask the user to do this but it can become annoying as a user. So the answer is not 100% accurate for iPhone users. Q: Will I be annoyed with constant notifications? A: You will only receive a notification when a beacon is detected. The typical range of a beacon is around 10 meters. Beacons can also be 'unliked' to ignore any further notification. Q: What are these beacons? A: Beacons are Bluetooth transmitters and are usually placed in or around various points of interest. Beacons can be used to notify customers of in-store specials, provide information about that particular BUCO store, and countless other possibilities! Q: Does this app share my personal information? A: Absolutely Not. Our app does not submit any personal information from your phone. You may tailor your profile however to help us tailor your notifications.
